WELCOME TO WEB DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN

This class will introduce you to web page design and development through a series of online tutorials. including introductory courses in HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Critical Website Evaluation Criteria, as well as an overview of currently accepted Web Standards as outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

You will build a variety of personal websites demonstrating the skills acquired from these tutorials. Students will also be expected to complete a final Web project, incorporating and demonstrating the skills acquired through these tutorials. The two online tutorials that you will be using in this class are W3Schools.com and EchoEcho.com. You will find links to the tutorials on this web site, along with the assignments that you will do in this class, and the exams that you will take. You may use this site as a guide to help you with what you do in this class and more. All credit for the tutorials goes to W3 schools and EchoEcho, who created these web sites and put them on the web.

You will also be asked to keep a daily log called a "Task Sheet" and turn it in at each 5-week period.
