	American Math Competition 8 results were great! Four students scored in the top 5% nationally: Benjamin Lee, David Lee, Ethan Marcus and Stefano Rumi. Congratulations! Thank you AMC Coach, Mr. Rasiej! Our school team received a Certificate of Merit from the American Math Competitions!
	LACES team placed 7th (out of 70 schools) in Mathcounts Competition. Great result for the first year! Congratulatons! Thanks to the Mathcounts Coach, Mrs. Hill. The outstanding team members are Ellen Kulinsky, Benjamin Lee, George Qiao and Rumi Stefano.
	Cas Sotomayor, a 6th grader is one of the winners of the African American Heritage Essay Contest. Congratulations! Cas and his English teacher, Mr. Palacio as well as his classmates in the English class are invited to the Mayor's special recognition ceremony on March 5.
	Yechan Kim has been accepted to the United States Naval Academy! Congratulations! Yechan is the very first LACES student admitted to the US Naval Academy!
	Max Toubes, 6th Grade, is the Top Speller in Local District 3! Congratulations! Max will be representing our District at the County Level Spelling Bee in March!
	LACES Aca Deca Team continues to show strength! Thank you Mr. Bergquist and the LACES Aca Deca Team for your dedication! Congratulations to the medal recipients! Isaac Yoon, the top scorer also received a gold medal in interview category. Ericka Jones won a silver medal in interview and a bronze medal in speech.
