Camille Didelot-Hearn published!

Camille wrote "Cheap and chic," a story about her love of thrift store shopping. Camille brought her "expertise" to the story, giving shopping tips too teen readers and sharing some of her thrift store adventures. It's a fun story that the newspaper thinks will be popular, especially in today's economy with jobless teens needing to make their money go farther. Camille's strength as a writer is her ability to sound like she's having a conversation with the reader, which keeps her story light and fun to read.

Camille also participated in the vegetarian challenge. The newspaper like Camille's piece because she actually failed and it would have been boring if everyone had made it the whole week. She was great at the photo shoot - it was her idea to hold the banana like a phone.

Amanda Riddle, the co-managing editor of LA Youth, really gives Camille credit for her last piece because not every teen would be willing to admit in print that they like One Direction. But she did and she defends herself well when she says, "Their music may not be the best ever written, but it is definitely fun to listen to."
