LACES Fair Trade club

The Laces Fair Trade club discusses the important issues on labor and farming poilices on meeting days. On special school events the Fair Trade sets up their booth and sells goodies to help raise funds to send to needy farmers and Fair Trade company funds that are helping local farmers in and outside of America to get a better crop sale.

Fair Trade is an organized social movement and market based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries obtain better trading conditions and promote sustainability.

Mr. Brandin, the Laces Fair trade sponser is most interested in the cause to help farmers have a better trading system, he on his free time researches web sites to share with students who also share his interests to help the Fair Trade systems.

Emmylou Hobgood, the club president of the Laces Fair Trade club is always on the look for new and helping information to aware kids on campus who want to help the needy farmers and spread word about the cause. In today's world economy, where profits rule and small-scale producers are left out of the bargaining process, farmers, craft producers, and other workers are often left without resources or hope for their future. Fair Trade helps exploited producers escape from this cycle and gives them a way to maintain their traditional lifestyles with dignity.
