Good luck to Zac Brodney who has qualified to compete at the USTA 16's Nationals this weekend in Aptos, CA

The September 2012 issue of L.A. Youth, the newspaper by and about teens, could be called the Camille Didelot-Hearn issue because of all her contributions, which include her first full-length story.

Congratulations to last year's graduating senior Zachary J. Robinson who won the Harvey Milk Memorial Scholarship Award. Zach is now attending Boston University.

Janice Choi, 11th grader, has won a scholarship for students who are working to become Olympians. Janice plans on participating in the Rio Olympics in marksmanship shooting.

Congratulations to Matthew Kanfer. As a member of the Westchester, California Babe Ruth Baseball program, he and his team will represent the Pacific Southwest region in the 14-Year-Old World Series held in Murray, Utah.

Camille has been selected to advance from the Olymipic Development Program level to the National Team Selection Camp (NTSC) level. She has been identified as one of the top athletes in the United States at the 8th grade level. This is an important step in her journey as an athlete and now she will be competing for positions for the Women's Nationals Teams.

Three LACES Juniors, Cuauhtemoc Rodriguez, David Rodriguez and Chiazom Ezenekwe, were admitted to UCLA Dept. of Engineering and Applied Science's SMARTS program. Click to read more!

The High School Challenge Index is a ranking of schools that prepare students for college. LACES is ranked 6th in California and 52nd in the nation.

The Rubincam Youth Award was established in 1986 to honor Milton Rubincam for his many years of service to the National Genealogical Society and to the field of genealogy. These awards encourage and recognize our youth as the next generation of family historians.

Five LACES students were National Award Winners (scored top 10% in the nation). The students are Sabrina Fardeheb, Montserrat Jungers, Anais Miller, Laetitia Coustar, and Anabelle Doliner. 42% of students in French 1, 63% of students in French 2, and 68% of students in French 3 earned awards this year.
